What a Baku visa is

One visa, one country, done properly

A "Baku visa" is simply the visa of the Republic of Azerbaijan, whose capital and main gateway is Baku. For Pakistani citizens it is required before travel, and for tourism and short visits it is issued electronically through the official ASAN Visa system rather than stamped at a consulate.

The electronic route is quick, but it is unforgiving. The portal checks your entry against your passport scan, a refused application is not refunded, and the standard e-visa can only start three working days after you submit. Our job is to make sure your Azerbaijan visa is right the first time, so your dates, your hotel and your flight stay exactly where you planned them.

Our Baku visa service

Your Azerbaijan visa, prepared by specialists

The Azerbaijan e-visa looks simple, and it is, until a blurred passport scan, a misspelt name or a card that will not pay sends the application back. A refused e-visa fee is not refunded, so it pays to get it right. That is the work we take off your hands.

Free eligibility check

Tell us your travel dates and purpose. We confirm whether the e-visa fits your trip or whether the embassy route is the right one.

Passport and scan review

We check validity, blank pages and the photo page scan, because an unreadable scan is one of the official reasons for refusal.

Error-free application

We prepare the Azerbaijan e-visa form with your details matched letter for letter to your passport, then you approve it before it is submitted.

Standard or urgent

Flying soon? We advise when the urgent e-visa is worth it and when standard processing is enough.

Documents required

Documents for an Azerbaijan e-visa from Pakistan

The e-visa asks for far less paperwork than a Schengen or UK visa. What it does ask for has to be exact.

Required

  • A valid Pakistani passport that stays valid at least three months beyond the e-visa's expiry date
  • A sharp colour scan of the passport photo page, with no glare, shadow or cropped edges
  • A working email address, because the e-visa and every status update are sent there
  • Payment by an internationally enabled card at the time of application
  • Your planned arrival date and the address where you will stay in Azerbaijan

Good to carry

  • Confirmed return or onward air ticket
  • Hotel booking or your host's full address in Baku
  • Recent bank statement or travel funds
  • Travel insurance for the length of your stay
  • A printed copy of the e-visa itself

Most delays we see come from small mismatches: a middle name left out, a passport number with one digit swapped, or a scan taken on a phone in poor light. We fix those before they cost you the fee.

Visit Baku

Where the Old City meets the Flame Towers

Baku sits on the western shore of the Caspian Sea, a capital where medieval stone lanes, oil-boom mansions and glass towers share one skyline. Here is what Pakistani travellers love most.

Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, a highlight of every Baku tour

Old City lanes and modern icons

Spend the morning among the carpet sellers and caravanserais of Icherisheher, then cross the city to the Heydar Aliyev Center, where Zaha Hadid's white curves rise from the ground like a wave. Few capitals hold eight centuries in one afternoon walk.

01

Icherisheher, the Old City

The walled heart of Baku, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with caravanserais, hammams, carpet shops and quiet lanes that glow at dusk.

02

Maiden Tower

Baku's oldest and most mysterious landmark. Climb to the roof for a view across the Old City to the bay.

03

Palace of the Shirvanshahs

A 15th-century royal complex of mosque, mausoleum and courtyards, the finest example of the Shirvan school of architecture.

04

Flame Towers

Three flame-shaped towers above the city that light up after dark in moving fire, the symbol of the Land of Fire.

Baku Boulevard and the Caspian

A long seaside promenade with gardens, cafés and the Caspian breeze, perfect for an evening walk with family.

Gobustan rock art

Thousands of prehistoric rock carvings and mud volcanoes outside the city, also on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Culture and traditions

The Land of Fire and its living traditions

Azerbaijan's culture is as warm as its tea. Knowing a little of it makes a visit to Baku far richer.

Carpet weaving

Azerbaijani carpets, with their medallions, borders and the famous buta motif, are recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Carpet Museum on the Boulevard is shaped like a rolled carpet.

Mugham

Mugham, the classical improvised music of Azerbaijan played on the tar and kamancha, is also inscribed by UNESCO. Hearing it live in the Old City is unforgettable.

Novruz

The spring new year in March fills the streets with bonfires, wheat sprouts called samani, sweet pastries and family visits.

Food and tea

Plov with saffron, dolma, qutab, kebabs and pakhlava, followed by black tea served in pear-shaped glasses with jam. Halal food is easy to find across the city.

The buta

The teardrop buta, seen on carpets, silks and even the Flame Towers' outline, is a symbol of fire and life and the emblem of Azerbaijani design.

Hospitality

Guests are honoured in Azerbaijan. Pakistani visitors are usually welcomed with special warmth, reflecting the close ties between the two countries.

Travel tips

Practical tips for your first trip to Baku

  • Carry the e-visa printout

The e-visa is not stamped into your passport. Print it and present it with your passport at the border.

  • Register if you stay longer

Visitors staying more than 15 days must register their place of stay with the State Migration Service. Hotels usually do this for their guests; with private stays, confirm it is done.

  • Money

The currency is the Azerbaijani manat (AZN). Cards are widely accepted in Baku; keep some cash for markets and taxis.

  • Getting around

The Baku Metro and city buses are cheap and simple with a rechargeable BakuCard. Use metered or app-based taxis.

  • Best time to visit

Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are cool and windy; Baku is called the City of Winds for a reason.

  • Language and dress

Azerbaijani is the national language; Russian and English are common in hotels and tourist areas. Dress is relaxed in the city, modest at mosques.
